Ways to Give
Our Mission
Backpack Chattanooga embodies the heart of The Nehemiah Project R3, showing how communities working together with love and purpose can positively shape the educational and spiritual lives of children while easing family burdens. The program equips students with essential classroom supplies, serving primarily Title I schools where approximately 95% of students are African American or Hispanic and many families face systemic and economic challenges. By intentionally focusing on these neighborhoods, Backpack Chattanooga helps address educational inequity and strengthen the foundation for academic success. For families living at or below the poverty line, this support relieves financial strain and offers a tangible expression of community care during a stressful season.

More Than School Supplies
Nehemiah Project R3 represents more than backpacks – it is a shared expression of care from the community to its children. Through the combined efforts of volunteers, partners, and supporters, students are reminded they are seen, valued, and supported. This collective commitment strengthens families, schools, and neighborhoods, reinforcing the belief that when a community invests in its children, everyone benefits.
